DOMINICA. 6 Bitts, ND (1813). George III. PCGS AG-03, Countermark: FINE Details.
KM-6; Prid-27. Issued by local ordinance of 7 August 1813. Countermark: Raised crowned 6 within shaped indent, roughly grained edge. Applied to the obverse of a central plug of a Spanish Colonial bust 8 Reales of Charles IIII (IV) of unknown mint. This handsome example displays attractive rich mottled gray patina with minor earthen deposits in the crevasses. The countermark is boldly applied on a well-worn host exhibiting signs of handling one would expect from the designated grade with some remaining evidence of the grained edge. This wholesome problem free example offers much originality and good eye appeal.
