GIBRALTAR. Gibraltar - Mexico. Bit, ND (ca. 1770-72). George III. PCGS VF-30, Countermark: VF Details.
KM-17.1 (Martinique); Prid-19 (Dominica). Countermark: Type IV bifacial, blunt heart-shaped cut-out with ornamented edges on both sides. Applied to 1742-Mo M Mexico Pillar 1 Real of Philip V (KM-75.2). This charming little minor coin displays attractive medium gray patina with brighter coloration on the high points on a wholesome and moderately worn host. Pierced from the obverse with nearly complete ornamental design features the exhibit good definition. A handsome example of the type that is better than normally encountered that is sure to excite many collectors.
