KM-29; Gomes-Unlisted; Azevedo-pg. 29. Issued by decree of 20 August 1765 under Governor Baltazar Manoel Pereira do Lago. Countermark: Ligate MR and M incuse. Applied to the obverse of a 1752-Mo MF Mexico "Pillar" 8 Reales of Ferdinand VI (KM-105) previous Mozambique incuse "M" countermark issued by decree of 1760 under Governor Pedro de Saldanha de Albuquerque. This pleasing example boasts strong clear countermarks on a lovely looking host displaying rich slate patina with a slight iridescent sheen. Minor earthen deposits are noticed in the crevasses adding to its originality adding a bit a character to this handsome survivor.
