KM-108; Basso-56; PNM#6-211; PNM#16-190; PNM#21-VIII-22; Cacho-IX-CS-004; Gil-5-3-1-I. Issued by decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837 (by decree of 1 February 1836). Countermark: Type VI, crowned Y.II. in incuse circle. Applied to the obverse of an 1834-SANTIAGO IJ Chile Republic "Volcano" Peso (KM-82.2). This attractive and lightly worn survivor exhibits even wear with signs of handling consistent for the grade. The countermark, though slightly uneven, is bold with good definition on nice looking host. Lightly toned with richer coloration amongst the devices and protected areas, this handsome and popular host type is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
