One of the more available mints for the Y.II. countermark, some of the earlier dates are seen with less frequency. For this date with have nine recorded examples. The countermark is bold, well-formed and clear on a nicely preserved host displaying light attractive mottled patina. Close inspection reveals evidence of a past cleaning now subdued by the attractive tone. Despite its shortcomings a handsome example of the date that offers a pleasing appearance and is far nicer than normally encountered from this series.
