RUSSIA. Nicholas I/Diligence Silver Award Medal, ND (ca. 1835). PCGS SPECIMEN-61.
cf. Dia-451.1 (larger denomination). By V. Alexeev. Diameter: 50mm. Obverse: Bare head right; Reverse: Circular legend around central field left blank for engraving. A meritorious award issued for diligence or zeal rendered unto the government, this alluring specimen presents a more youthful bust of the czar, with some later versions of this award being distinguished by the czar's longer sideburns and the presence of a moustache. Quite attractively toned, with some hues of iridescence nearer the peripheries. Seemingly a VERY RARE and unlisted type in Diakov with the full artist's signature and in this smaller module.
Estimate: $2000 - $4000
