GREAT BRITAIN. Aquitaine. Guyennois d'Or, ND (1362-77)-R. La Rochelle Mint. Edward III. NGC MS-60.
S-8045; Fr-1 (France); Elias-48. Third type. Weight: 3.79 gms. Obverse: Edward, holding sword and shield, standing right within Gothic arch; below, opposed leopards; R to upper right; Reverse: Cross fleuree and chenee with central quadrilobe; lis and leopard in alternating quarters; all within tressure of arches, with pellet at end of each arc. A VERY RARE gold offering for claimed realms in northern France, this specimen offers a pleasing strike along with a golden-orange tone and no evidence of handling. As such, an example that should generate tremendous enthusiasm from the collectors of early British, or world gold in general.

Estimate: $10000 - $15000
