MOROCCO. 10 Dirhams, AH 1299 (1882). Paris Mint. Moulay al-Hasan I. PCGS PROOF-67.
KM-Y-8; Lec-187A. Mintage: 5. A coin of both extraordinary import and stunning beauty, very few other numismatic pieces can reach this plateau of desirability. This is our first offering of a Proof example of the type, and Lecompte estimates a mintage of 5, placing it amongst the RAREST of Moroccan coins. Enticing watercolor toning coats the surfaces, with seafoam green towards the peripheral legends and soft cherry toning at the central devices. Complete luster shines beneath the toning, alighting the surfaces in a colorful display of charming vivacity. Approaching a flawless level, this piece displays essentially no marking or contacting, leaving a cohesive surface appearance. A tremendous example that is sure to tug the heartstring of any specialist in Moroccan coinage.

Estimate: $7500 - $15000
