1950 New Zealand proofs are elusive when offered individually, making a complete set an offering that is largely without peer. We can find no offering of a complete set in the last 20 years, highlighting the RARITY of this set. There are no firmly established nor approximated mintage figures for the 1950 proof coinage, with some of the finest collections of New Zealand coinage lacking examples of this set. All members of this set are beautifully preserved at the Gem level, with essentially no evidence of handling or major fault. A proof set that is unlikely to be offered at any point in the near-term future.
