ITALY. Lucania. Metapontion. AE Obol, ca. 400-340 B.C. NGC EF. Fine Style.
HGC-1, 1096; HN Italy-1641. Obverse: Head of Nike right; O behind neck; Reverse: Ear of barley with six grains; herm to left. This bronze Obol is well-deserving of its "Fine Style" designation due to the sharp portrait on the obverse. The deep green patina adds a level of elegance to the coin.
From the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection.
