THESSALY. Larissa. AR Drachm (6.00 gms), ca. 400-365 B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5.
HGC-4, 430; BCD Thessaly-II, 281-2. Obverse: Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, with hair in ampyx; Reverse: Horse standing right. Light roughness on the obverse and a hairline flan crack at 1 o'clock. Otherwise, a very attractive coin with sharp detail and light toning, along with plenty of luster in the fields. A highly appealing example of this extremely popular type.
