ATTICA. Athens. AR Hemidrachm, ca. 353-294 B.C. NGC Ch F.
HGC-4, 1642; Kroll-19d. Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right, with profile eye and pi-style palmette; Reverse: Owl standing facing between olive branches. Despite its irregular flan shape, this Athenian fraction is well-struck and nicely centered. Nice details remain on both Athena's face and the owl.
From the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection.
Estimate: $200 - $300
