Group of Six Egyptian Glazed Steatite Scarabs. New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, ca. 1550-1292 B.C. Average Grade: FINE.
Comprising a ram head of Amun flanked by two hieroglyphs; a scarab beetle; two with scarab beetles below two hieroglyphs, the larger with better preserved blue-green glaze; a cartouche of Ahmose I featuring a feline head between a solar disk with uraeus and a shallow basket; and one with various hieroglyphs. Glaze worn on all, the single scarab beetle and the cartouche of Ahmose I chipped, bore hole partially open on the one with better-preserved blue-green glaze.
