Cf. a sardonyx in the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, Leiden, Netherlands, inv. GS-01162. Dimensions: 17 x 12mm. Composed of a two-layered sandwich of glass, the back with green sections at the top and bottom and an opaque white stripe framed by cobalt blue in the center, the incised front also with green sections at the top and bottom, but with a cobalt blue stripe framed by opaque white in the center. The incised design is that of a tipsy satyr walking with a kantharos in one hand and a pedum in the other, wearing a panther skin. Chipped, otherwise good.
