VENEZUELA. Lot of (2). Banco Central De Venezuela. 10 & 500 Bolivares, ND (1945-71). P-31s & 37s. Specimens. PMG Choice About Uncirculated 58 & Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
An interesting set of ABNC specimens, with overprints that we have not encountered before. The overprints read "Visita del General Marcos Perez Jimenez al Banco Central de Venezuela", with "Lunes" (Monday) crossed out next to a date of February 2, 1957. Marcos Perez Jimenez was the dictator of Venezuela from 1952-58, and was later ousted during a coup by the military. These notes were made to commemorate a visit to the Central Bank of Venezuela by Jimenez.
