GUATEMALA. Banco Central de Guatemala. 1 Quetzal, 1927-28. P-6. PMG Very Fine 30 EPQ.
Printed by TDLR. Watermark of Arms. Dated April 21st, 1927. The note hails from the first series of Banco Central de Guatemala notes. It also bears the first series date. General Jose Maria Orellana's portrait is at left, with two dockworkers to the right of his portrait. The design is in dark green ink with a red guilloche at center. Depicted on the reverse is a monolith constructed by the Maya around the year 760, which is located in Quirigua. Just five examples of this type have been graded by PMG, with this being the finest and the only one to have earned the EPQ qualifier. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
