Chimu Figural Vessel. An excellent Chimu figural jar from Peru, c. 1100 – 1450 AD. This fine blackware example is 7-1/8" high and depicts a man with a shuspa (carrying bag) slung over his shoulders. His arms, bag and facial features are molded in high relief and the slip is highly burnished. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits. Ex Freeman estate. Value range $500 - $700.
