Huari Monkey Vessel. A wonderful Huari zoomorphic effigy vessel from Peru, c. 650 – 800 ASD. This unusual example is 7" high and depicts an adorable monkey holding a large beaker. His head is beautifully detailed and highlighted with paint, the legs are molded in relief around the chamber, with the fingers set off with paint. Intact, with strong paint and mineral deposits. Ex Caravallo collection. Value range $420 - $600.
