KYRENAICA, Kyrene. Circa 500-480 BC. AR Drachm (13mm, 2.72 g). Asiatic standard. Two silphion fruits set base-to-base (only one visible) / Facing head of lion within incuse square. Buttrey, Coins, Period I, Group 2, 87; BMC 38; SNG Copenhagen 1172. Toned, rough, porous surfaces, off center on obverse. Fine.
