SICILY, Syracuse. Hieron II. 275-215 BC. Æ Hemilitron (27mm, 17.46 g, 2h). Period IIb, circa 230-218/5 BC. Diademed head left; [symbol to right] / Warrior on horse prancing right, holding couched lance; uncertain control mark below. Cf. CNS 195; BAR Issue 62; HGC 2, 1548. Dark green-brown surfaces, with patches of red, light roughness, some smoothing. Good VF.
