CARIA, Stratonicaea. Caracalla, with Geta as Caesar. AD 198-217. Æ (40mm, 32.23 g, 12h). Zosimos, son of Posittos, prytanis. Struck before AD 209. Confronted busts of Caracalla right, laureate, draped and cuirassed, and Geta left, bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed / Zeus Panamaros on horseback right, holding long scepter, chlamys over shoulder; lighted altar to right. SNG von Aulock 2690; SNG Copenhagen 510. Rough brown patina. Near VF. Rare with Geta's portrait intact, this type is usually encountered as a damnatio memoriae..
