KINGS of THRACE, Macedonian. Lysimachos. 305-281 BC. AR Drachm (17mm, 4.13 g, 12h). Uncertain mint. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, transverse spear in background; monogram to outer left. Cf. HGC 3, 1753 (for type); otherwise, unpublished. Light scratches. Near VF. Possibly a contemporary imitation.
The monogram is known on tetradrachms at Lysimacheia and Lampsakos, but the style of the present coin is relatively crude, suggesting it is an unofficial issue.
