Mainz. Friedrich Karl Josef Taler 1795 FS//IA MS64+ Prooflike NGC, Mainz mint, KM409, Dav-2434. Struck to commemorate the relief of the city of Mainz from the French siege under Jean-Baptiste Jourdan during the War of the First Coalition. Practically as-struck, this is the only example of the type to receive a Prooflike designation from NGC, with untoned, flashy expanses that tantalize the eye.
