Nürnberg. Free City "City Hall" Taler ND (1688)-DSD MS64 NGC, Nürnberg mint, KM204, Dav-5664, Kellner-261. Mintmaster Daniel Sigmund Dockler. Often referred to as the City Hall (Rathaus) Taler. This medallic-styled issue is bathed in scintillating gunmetal toning over a mirrored bed of reflective luster, struck to perfection in every detail. Clearly the work of a skilled engraver with visuals more akin to French architectural medals from two centuries later. Hands down an amazing specimen from two impressive pedigreed collections.
