Saxony. Friedrich August III Taler 1799-IEC MS66 PCGS, Dresden mint, KM1027.2, Dav-2701. A masterpiece of somewhat understated brilliance, produced on a shimmering flan laying host to cascading argent brilliance. While this type is well represented in Mint State designations at both major grading services, rarely do they surpass a Gem assignment as seen here. Enhanced by a subtle sandalwood glow that does little to diminish the unstoppable luster when seen from even the slightest tilt, and as the finest for the date, will certainly find itself placed in a quality-conscious cabinet.
