Saxony-Ernestine. Johann Friedrich & Georg Taler 1537 MS64 NGC, KM-MB199, Dav-9721. Wholly impressive, wearing surfaces gripped by a seemingly impossible amount of luster, where a consistent champagne tone briefly transforms to steely aquamarine at the edges. Areas of weakness in the legends are only a minor inconvenience when taking into account the overall exactitude of the strike, still on display today. The finest at NGC, and the only Mint State example currently certified.
