ANTONINVS AVG-PIVS P P TR P COS IIII, laureate bust of Antoninus Pius right, seen from behind / No legend, Roma seated left, helmeted, shield decorated with gorgoneion and central pellet at her side, spear in right hand, palladium facing in outstretched right hand. Calicó 1455. RIC III 159c. A flawless specimen of this elegant type, struck from dies of fine style on a highly lustrous flan. By far the best preserved and attractive of the five examples in sales archives.
