CONSTANTI-NVS MAX AVG, rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantine I right, seen from front / PIETAS AVGVSTI NOSTRI, Constantine I (center right), in military dress, standing facing, head left, transverse scepter in left hand, extending right hand to raise turreted Constantinople (center left) kneeling right, presented by soldier (on left), standing facing, head right, shield in left hand, and Victory (on right) standing facing, head left, crowning Constantine with palm frond in right hand, another palm cradled on left arm; SMNP in exergue. RIC VII 168. Depeyrot 42/1. Rare, and significantly more attractive than the few other specimens in sales archives. Struck from sharp, detailed, fresh dies on gleaming surfaces. Absolutely magnificent.
