Republic gold "Kremnica Mines" 5 Dukaten 1934 MS66 Prooflike NGC, Kremnitz mint, KM-XM20, Fr-14. Mintage: 70. One of the most visually exciting editions from 1930s Europe, according to this cataloger, and one that always excites bidders in any denomination but especially so in the 5 and 10 Dukaten sizes. Exceedingly scarce and struck to commemorate the reopening of the mines at Kremnica. Clearly an important occasion as confirmed by the issue's immense popularity, and attractively styled by medalist Anton Ham in an aesthetic more akin to Art Deco. Fully Prooflike and even medallic, bathed in notable reflectivity and a superior state of preservation that make this a prime candidate for the Czech collector.
