Henry VII (1485-1509) gold Angel ND (1505-1509) MS64 NGC, Tower mint, Cross-crosslet and Pheon mm, S-2187, N-1698, Schneider-540. 5.16gm. (cross-crosslet) hЄnRIC (large crook-shaped abbreviation) x DI' + GRΛ'+ RЄX x ΛnGL' x Z x FRΛ' x | + (pheon) + (saltire stops), crowned, nimbate figure of the Archangel with both feet on the dragon (Satan), spearing with cross-tipped staff / (cross-crosslet) PЄR + CRVCЄ'+ TVΛ' x SΛLVΛ x nOS x XPЄ'+ RЄD': (pheon) + (saltire and double saltire stops), Tudor shield over ship, h above. Firmly executed and well-centered on an evenly round flan of noticeably good quality. Profusely shimmering with satiny luster that elevates the well-defined designs to an even higher visual appeal, admitting only occasional minor instances of contact that would hardly be considered distracting by even the most conditionally discriminating collector. Tied for the finest certified by NGC to date, with only a single piece certified one point higher by PCGS.
