James I gold Unite (1609-1610) MS62 NGC, Tower mint, Key mm, Second coinage, KM46, S-2619, N-2084. 9.98gm. A true outlier for a more prolific issue of James' coinage, and one most coveted in similar, truly deserving Mint State preservations. Imbued with a key mintmark, we note this feature is the only example represented in NGC's census, with incredibly few coming to market in the last twenty years. While gentle striking weakness characteristic to the series is witnessed to the sitter's armored and ornamented bust, the underlying pale-gold canvas remains largely unhandled, well-rounded, and perfectly centered. A must-have for the collector of British gold.
