C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS P M TR POT, Pietas seated left, patera in right hand, resting arm on small draped figure facing on basis; PIETAS in exergue / DIVO-AVG, Gaius, veiled and togate, standing facing, head left, patera in right hand over altar, victimarius standing facing on left, head right, pulling bull for sacrifice, attendant standing facing on right, head left, with patera in left hand; all before garlanded hexastyle temple of Divus Augustus, with statues visible in pediment and on rood, S-C across fields. RIC I 36. Struck from impressive Fine Style dies on a dark patinaed specimen.
