Pedro I 960 Reis 1825-B AU58 NGC, Bahia mint, KM368.2, LMB-510. Struck on a Mexico Republic "Hookneck" 8 Reales 1823 Mo-JM (KM-A376.2). A chiseled representative of this popular Brazilian type where an elusive trifecta can be appreciated: a fully-struck overtype, an amply visible and scarce host, and an impressive grade. This crisp piece shows little to no signs of handling, the highest grade assigned by NGC and a tasteful cabinet tone which enhances the host: the coveted "Hookneck" 8 Reales, with the eagle's head quite visible to the left of the "960" and the radiant rays underlying the Brazilian shield.
