Costa Rica
Republic Counterstamped "Carrillo" 2 Reales ND (1841-1842) G6 NGC, San Jose mint, cf. KM9 (unlisted host). Host: Mexico Ferdinand VI 2 Reales 1754 Mo-M; Counterstamp: control test-punch between ET and IND, Type I countermark of radiant 6-pointed star within 7mm circle. A usually heavily circulated type, where the plug hole (same size as the stamp) represents the fee paid for regulating such coin. Undeniably scarce as a type, the present offering seemingly unheard of with the stamp applied on a "Pillar" 2 Reales.
