Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1772 Mo-FM AU58 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM156.1, Cal-1998. Upright mint mark. Rare in any condition approaching Mint State. Issued during the reign of Charles III at the height of Spanish empire, this example boasts honeyed surfaces and a sharper strike than what is usual for the type. Omitting evidence of scant handling, a case could be made for a Mint State designation. From the Mac and Rob Woodside Collection
