Charles IV gold 8 Escudos 1797 Mo-FM MS62 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM159, Cal-1637. A spectacular representative of this always contested type, especially when located in decidedly Mint State preservations. While the obverse displays grade-defining wisps and marks, the reverse faces up especially fine, bestowed an undeniable aurous flash. While two others in NGC's census rank finer, the offering at hand bests even the Rudman example offered in 2015 by one point.
