Neuchatel. Canton Friedrich I 1/4 Taler (1/4 Ecu) 1713 MS64 NGC, KM38. Mintage: 13,000. An impossibly handsome survivor from an already minuscule original mintage, this piece exhibits extraordinarily sharply rendered motifs over the magnificently shimmery, choice surfaces that are patinated in slate gray and accentuated by glimpses of ice-blue toning. A gentle brush of cabinet friction on his cheek and slight adjustment marks on the reverse noted for accuracy. Currently unchallenged at this certified grade level across PCGS and NCG, rare and very desirable thus.
