BASIL I with CONSTANTINE, 867-886. AV Solidus (4.43 gms), Constantinople Mint, 868-879. NGC Ch AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 2/5. Scuffs, Edge Bend.
S-1704. Obverse: Christ Pantokrator seated facing on throne; Reverse: Crowned facing busts of Basil, wearing loros, and Constantine, wearing chlamys, holding between them a patriarchal cross. Scuffs noted on both sides, along with a bent edge visible at 3 o'clock on the obverse. Nonetheless, a very lightly circulated example with abundant detail and lustrous fields.
