BURMA: TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th/18th century, cast large tin coin (66.53g), Robinson-11 (Plate 8:2), 70mm; thin mythical hintha bird facing right, with long tail rising above, long feathers along its back, and holding what is probably a 9-leaf branch in its beak // 3-line Burmese legend (type B2), VF, RR. Robinson suggests that the obverse of this type imitates the obverse of the common lead weights; the crude production suggests that this is a local imitation or emergency casting, similar to the examples found in the Perak hoard.
