JUDAEA. Bar Kokhba. 132-135 CE. Small Æ (19mm, 4.55 g, 6h). Mint in Judaea. Dated year 1 (132/133 CE). "Eleazar the priest" (paleo-Hebrew), seven-branched palm tree with two bunches of dates / "Year one for the redemption of Israel" (paleo-Hebrew), bunch of grapes with branch and small leaf. Hendin 6409c; TJC 224a; Sofaer 24-25. Green-brown patina, thin layer of earthen encrustation. VF. See GBC 330 on the identity of Eleazar.
