JUDAEA, Hasmonean. Alexander Jannaeus. 104-76 BCE. Æ Prutah (13mm, 1.46 g, 11h). Jerusalem mint. "Yonatan the High Priest and the Council of the Jews" in classic style paleo-Hebrew within wreath / Two cornucopias splayed outward, adorned with ribbons; pomegranate/poppy between. Hendin 6185; TJC T; Sofaer 405-417. Brown-green patina. Good VF. Nicely centered and one of the few examples of this inscription NOT TO SHOW any traces of overstriking on an earlier coin.
