JUDAEA, Hasmonean. Alexander Jannaeus. 104-76 BCE. Æ Prutah (15mm, 2.50 g, 2h). Irregular issue. Jerusalem mint. "Yonatan the High Priest and the Council of the Jews" in highly stylized paleo-Hebrew within wreath / Two cornucopias splayed outward, adorned with ribbons; pomegranate/poppy between. Cf. Hendin 6186; TJC S; Sofaer 370-400. Even earthen brown surfaces. Good VF. Barely readable paleo-Hebrew legends.
