British India, 1911, Delhi Durbar Medal, King George V, Silver, Awarded to "Jemedar Saheb Singh", Obv: conjoined busts of King George V & Queen Mary facing left, within a floral wreath, Rev: an elaborate Farsi legend that translates as “The Durbar of George V, Emperor of India, Master of the British lands”, with the ring, engraved on the edge "JEM SAHEB SINGH 48th PIONEERS", 38.60g, 39.21mm, (MYB 2007 # 312), about extremely fine, Very Rare.
Note: Issued to commemorate the Delhi Durbar held to honor the King Emperor in December 1911. These were awarded to British and Indian officers and other ranks for exemplary service. About 30,000 were produced.
