Israel - Sheet of 2 Banknotes (apparently cut from a sheet of 3 banknotes) 1 Shekel 1886 - PMG 65 EPQ

In 1985, following high inflation, it was decided to replace the shekel with the new shekel.
Every 1,000 shekels have become one new shekel to facilitate transactions in the economy.
Observe: a portrait of Maimonides, and in the background - a piece of "Mishnah Torah" in his handwriting;
the words "One New Shekel" and "Bank of Israel" in Hebrew.
Reverse: Ancient stone lamp; The words "1 New sjekel " and "Bank of Israel" in Arabic and English.
Watermark: Portrait of Maimonides.
Signatures: Governor of the Bank Moshe Mandelbum; Chairman of the Advisory Council, Avraham Shapira.
