Constans. AD 337-350. AV Nine Siliquae – 1 1/2 Scripulum (14mm, 1.67 g, 6h). Treveri (Trier) mint. Struck AD 345. Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Victory advancing left, holding wreath in extended hand and cradling palm branch; TR. RIC VIII 142; Depeyrot 6/10. Lightly toned, light scrape, some light scratches and marks, some die rust. Good VF. Very rare, only this coin on CoinArchives. Better than the example in Vienna.

The gold 1½ Scripulum - 9 Siliquae denomination was introduced by Constantine I circa AD 310, and tariffed at the inconvenient ratio of three-eighths of a gold solidus. It was later replaced by the more convenient gold tremissis under Theodosius I circa AD 383. The denomination is particularly rare as an issue of Constans.
