ITALY, Pavia (Seignory). Gian Galeazzo Visconti. 1375/8-1402. AR Grosso da 1½ soldi (23mm, 2.44 g, 2h). Small annulet issue. Struck mid-1370s-1392. Coat-of-arms surmounted by elaborately crested helmet; on either side, two buckets hanging from branch arising from flames; all within angled quadrilobe; rosettes in spandrels / St. Syrus enthroned facing, holding croizer and raising hand in benediction. MIR 845 (Galeazzo II Visconti); MEC 12, 806; Biaggi 1844 (Galeazzo II Visconti). Toned, areas of weak strike. VF.
