THRACE, Serdica. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ (28.5mm, 15.79 g, 12h). Laureate and cuirassed bust right, gorgoneion on breastplate, seen from the front / River-god Oiskos reclining left, holding grain ears and reed, resting elbow on urn from which water flows. Ruzicka, Serdica 286 var. (bust); H&J, Serdica 12.18.32.– var. (bust); Varbanov 2424 var. (obv. legend and bust). Dark green patina. Good VF. Extremely rare, unpublished bust type. Artistic dies.
