Bust of Artemis left; in front, bow, quiver over shoulder / Trajan in military dress standing left, holding scepter and crowning trophy of arms; at base, Dacian captive seated left, hands bound behind. Kurth 95 corr. (spear); RPC III 2565 corr. (same); SNG von Aulock 3318 corr. (same). Stripped brown surfaces, minor roughness, patches of find patina, cleaning scratches. Good VF. Extremely rare, three known to RPC, none in CoinArchives.

All references describe the emperor as holding a spear but the top is worn on most specimens. This coin shows a clear cruciform-type scepter.
