DEL 1er FERROCARRIL HISPANO-AMERICANO, steam train right, key and 1989 above, HABANA-BEJUCAL 1837-1987 CUBA in three lines below, ORO FINO 1/2 OZ 0.999, edge milled, 31.11g, 12h, 26mm. (KM P25; JMA AAEE260), slight fingermarks in otherwise brilliant fields, a foxing spot bu O of PESOS, otherwise handsomely cameo, about as struck, an excissively rare piedfort striking with only TWELVE reportedly struck.

A truly bizarre piedfort striking of the 50 Pesos (1/2 Oz issue) given the existence of the 100 Pesos (1 oz issue) of which only 150 were struck. Only 12 Piedforts were reportedly issued
