(Feuardent 895/890), richly cabinet toned, a pleasingly good very fine, an unusual variety of this historic series struck to commemorate the French assistance in the American Revolutionary War; another, 1776, similar, rev. NEC PAX SINE ARMIS, Minerva standing, head turned left, holding spear and shield, edge straight milled, 7.19g, 6h, 28.5mm., toned and residually lustrous, a pleasing very fine; lastly, AR Medal, "On the Death of Louis XVI", 1793, by Frédéric Loos, Berlin, struck after 1794, LOUIS XVI ROI DE FR. IMMOLÉ PAR LES FACTIEUX, laureate bust right, rev. PLEURÉS ET VENGÉS LE ! France seated left, head right, leaning upon funerary urn and pointing toward toppled crown; tempest in background, LE XXI IANVIER / MDCCXCIII. in two lines in exergue, edge plain, 9.47g, 12h, 30mm. (Sommer A32; Julius 262; Henin 469), staining to reverse and a small edge bruise at 11 o'clock, otherwise toned and residually lustrous, a bold very fine (3).
